Hi There!
I am a forensic accountant, at least that’s what people call me. My career has been far more interesting than that of the average accountant. Perhaps it’s because I have been blessed by serendipitous events, (I was once sent to audit a TV station and it morphed into a review of Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker), or maybe I see things that others don’t. Over the course of my career, I have found and exposed >$65 million of Fraud.
Fraud investigation has never been my primary job. Much of my current practice includes evaluation of claims for insurance companies: business interruption, theft, arson, etc. On average, my analysis results in a 60% reduction from the initial claim. I’ve assisted state and federal law enforcement as lead forensic investigator in a number of cases. I have worked closely with investigators from insurance company Special Investigation Units (SIU’s), regarding suspicious and questionable claims.
I love the variety of my work. Early in my career I served as an internal auditor for a financial services company where deceit and deception were an integral part of the corporate culture. I became good at finding "things." I have served in C-suite positions, mostly in the insurance segment. I designed and implemented an internal audit function for a $1 billion construction company. In 2005 I sold a company, and it allowed me to focus on my passion and interest: Forensic Accounting!
